GoPros

The Rocket Mounted Unit has always contained a GoPro. This GoPro is turned on via ground station commands and films for 7 minutes. This video will include events such as lift-off, our FFU ejection as well as the ejection of other experiments' FFUs, and despin of the rocket. You can see the video of our predecessor, ISAAC, here:

Unfortunately, some issues with this GoPro have been observed by previous REXUS experiments. Thus, we are using the lift-off signal provided by the rocket's service module in addition to ground station commands in order to ensure that the GoPro begins filming and continues filming as desired. This update to the firmware was easily made by Alex!

Moreover, we will be adding a GoPro to the Receiving Specific Unit as well. This GoPro will view the spinning of the stepper motor as well as the tracking of the Transmitting Specific Unit. At our IR tubes' location in the RxSU, we've put a GoPro using our new sleek SLED-RxGoProHolder designed by Asuka! By doing so, we will be able to record exactly what the Rx-tracking camera will see, so that our post-flight analysis will be visually improved and, last but not least, we will get a cool video!

We are excited for the videos of our experiment from two vantage points! We'll be sure to share them here!
